Friendship South Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Lamar County, Alabama

 Number 49 on the 2002 Cemetery Map of Lamar County 

 Located on Friendship Road about one mile south of County Road 29 (Aberdeen Road), five miles west of Vernon.  Organized in 1827, the church is the oldest in Lamar County.

 This cemetery was surveyed by Margaret Anderson Carr on October 18, 2005.  The list of graves begins at the corner of Friendship and Turner Roads.  Most of the markers with no names are flat and flush with the ground, and replaced the original fieldstones when the cemetery was sown with grass.  Inscriptions are in boldface type.  Annotations (in parentheses) were added by Margaret Anderson Carr, Jean Smith Carr, Kawatha “Kay” Chandler Koonce, and Paul Hays.
