New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery Lamar County, Alabama

Bedford Community

No. 50 on the 2002 Cemetery Map of Lamar County

The church in front of the cemetery is located on McGill Gin Road (County Rd. 31), 1.1 miles south of Aberdeen Road (County Rd. 26).  McGill Gin Road is 6.6 miles west of the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Aberdeen Road in Vernon.

Graves in each row are listed from north to south.  Most of the rows are numbered by granite markers along the driveway on the north side of the cemetery, beginning with Row 1 at the east side closest to the church.

Names, dates (as best as they could be deciphered in some cases), and military service are recorded as they appear on the markers in boldface type.  Multiple graves with one headstone, or family plots, are so noted in parentheses.   Unless otherwise noted, parenthetical information was added by the transcribers, and does not appear on the markers.

The cemetery was surveyed on April 11 – 14, 2006, by Paul Hays, Dianne Oakes Woods, Kawatha “Kay” Chandler Koonce, Barbara Woolbright Carruth, and Drew Hopper.
