The park consists of 100 acres and contains a number of lighted athletic fields. picnic facilities, metered walking trails with identified flora, and a 10 acre fishing lake with swans and ducks. It was dedicated to Mayor Guthrie Smith who conceived and directed the building of the park while serving as Mayor for 37 years.
