Our Heritage

We think our patch aptly portrays our City's heritage. The pine cones and needles at the top, under the eagle, represent the lumber industry in Fayette's past and present. The cotton bowl represents agriculture, with the wheel representing industry. The lamp depicts education for it's vital importance then and now. The date, 1821, is the date of Fayette's incorporation. The eagle at the top depicts strength and justice through law and order, while our shield is framed by the flags of the United States of America and the State of Alabama.
